Antique Primitive Brown Stoneware Beater Jar Crock. As many of you know...I love stoneware crocks, jugs, jars all of it. This is a nice example of early stoneware. Solid brown stoneware beater jar. The reason it's called a beater jar is the bottom is slightly bowled, so when a whisk or the hand held beaters were added, it was rounded at the bottom. Great shape. Size is 5 1/4" tall x 4 1/2" diameter at the bottom and 4 3/4" round at the top. Only 1 like it.
