They are distressed and stained for a primitive look. You can purchase the boxes with or without the light kit. The light kit consists of a single iron candle base. Not attached to the top box, just rests on top. Then a tea stained pip berry wreath and a 4" battery operated timer taper candle. The candle has a little burlap ribbon tied on and a primitive tea stained tag that has a saying you can choose. Runs 6 hours on and 18 hours off. Takes 1 AA battery, not included.
